William was a graduate of the University of Michigan in 1896, Bachel
or of Arts Degree. He was employed as general council of the Quaker Oa
ts Company in Chicago, Illinois.

William married Charlotte and they adopted two children; Roderick and Roxa
ne. The family lived in Chicago and Winnetka, Illinois.

He was active in the University of Michigan Alumni Association in Chicago-
receiving the U. of M. Distinguished Alumni Service Medal in 1948 at the A
lumni luncheon.

In later years he resided for four years in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He e
xpired in a Florida nursing home.
