Show Details Shared Note: - Max graduated from the University of Iowa Law School in 1910 and first pra
cticed at Fort Dodge, Iowa. In 1917 or 1918 he moved to Webster City, Io
wa where he practiced for the rest of his life.

He married Grace in 1914 and they had two children.

He was an enthusiastic follower of sports. He played baseball in high sch
ool, was on the Hampton town team, and played first base for the Universi
ty of Iowa while maintaining an A grade average in law school. He encoura
ged and assisted his daughter in competition swimming.

He was chairman of the Hamilton County Hospital Board when a new hospit
al was built in the early 1930's and was largely instrumental in having Fu
ller Hall, a community building built in Webster City in the 1950's
