Shared Note: - Charles attended Olivet College for two years and transferred to the Unive
rsity of Michigan at Ann Arbor. He had studied voice culture and this tra ining enabled him to pay his way through the University of Michigan by sin ging in church and in concerts. He graduated from the Engineering Scho ol in 1904. He followed the field of engineering in Detroit, and in Penns ylvania and New York. In New York he held the position of Vice Preside nt of the New York Association of Consulting Engineers and was a memb er of the counsel at the American Society of Heating and Air Conditioni ng Engineers. He was awarded an honorary life membership in theis organiz ation. He married Marguerite who was a granddughter of General Worm er of the United States Civil War. Marguerite had graduated from Miss Lig get's Kindergarten School in Detroit and taught several years. Charles a nd Marguerite had three children. Marguerite died December 28, 1953 at Mo nt Vernon, New York.
