| Shared Note: - "At the age of sixteen Isaac was quite an expert as a business man and attended to most of his father's outside affairs. Upon attaining his majori ty he went into partnership with his father and his brother, Henry, in t he lumbering business." He married Mary in 1861 and they were the paren ts of five children.
"In 1865, Isaac and his brother, Henry, built an extensive sawmill which t hey operated under the firm name of H. L. & I. L. Hemingway. They carri ed on this business successfully for twelve years. The mill was sold a nd later it burned." Isaac held seceral township offices and was justi ce of the peace for many years.
Isaac's wife, Abigail (Abby), was born in Oakland County, Michigan. Th ey are both buried in Hollenbeck Cemetery.
