rie and they had one child. Maynard worked at the W. S. Hemingway Hardwa
re in Otter Lake. The store was struck by lightning and caused the explos
ion of dynamite. Maynard, his wife, Carrie, and daughter, Eleanor, we
re in the building. All were killed by the explosion. Carrie was born Se
ptember 1, 1881 and died July 25, 1907. The family is buried in the Ott
er Lake Cemetery, Otter Lake, Michigan.
